Previously I hade some issues with the OK button not responding correctly in battles, hence JoyToKey as a workaround. Managed to get my Xbox 360 controller working with Steams controller configuration so updated OP accordingly.

These steps *should* work for both Xbox and PS4 controllers. from here, set your L2 to act as 元, your R2 to act as R3, and the d-pad to replicate the left analog stick for movement
right-click FF7 in your Steam library, choose Manage, and choose Controller configuration save in FF7, then exit the game and enable support for your controller in Steam itself (Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings, and then enable the controller you want to use) map as many inputs for the controller as possible in the in-game pause menu, with the inputs normally for L2 and R2 instead assigned to 元 and R3 I didn't want to use the program mentioned in the guide, so I tinkered with settings in both FF7 and Steam to get my controller working. If it helps, I was having the same exact issue with my Xbox One controller, along with the game not recognizing the controller's d-pad.

Steam achievements and cloud saves does not work. There are a number known of bugs in The Reunion. I prefer to use "_60fps_Battles = 1" since it is still noticably better than stock and has no major bugs. There are also other animations that does not work correctly. This is nice because the original title never had more than one. It is just as the name implies, adding a second difficulty mode to the original game.

I strongly recommend that you backup both the game directory and "Documents\Square Enix\Final Fantasy VII" before this procedure. From GameWatcher: Final Fantasy 7 Remakes got its first mods only a couple of days following its PC release on the Epic Games Store, showing once more that the lack of official tools wont necessarily stop a dedicated fan base from doing its thing. Then copy them back to \save when you are done.
You need to copy the contents of "\save" to "Documents\Square Enix\Final Fantasy VII Steam\user_19697176". The Reunion puts the save file in the game directory instead of the documents directory. The PC version is the bells-and-whistles Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which comes with the Yuffie DLC. Set "Disable_The_Reunion = y" in \The_Reunion\options.ini until the next save point. The former PlayStation exclusive Final Fantasy 7 Remake is now available on PC, and while the port has only been available for about a week, the modding community has already gone into overdrive. Stealing the Tiny Bronco from Rocket Village is broken. There is a similar bug when meeting Hojo in the Shinra building. In my case I had the bug with Cloud in slot 1 and Tifa in slot 3. Changing the order of your party members can workaround this. Thankfully, the Satsuki mod aims to fix all of that by recreating the entire game into high definition.Known issuesTifa can get stuck running indefinitely towards the center of the top of the pillar in sector 7 early in the game. And while FF7 Remake gives fans a chance to experience the narrative in a somewhat different way, the new Satsuki mod allows people to play the original game with impressive HD graphics that feels decidedly modern but also classic. Centering on protagonist Cloud Strife, FF7's story is a sweeping and sometimes heartbreaking tale with a memorable and beloved cast of characters. Thankfully, a new fan-made mod gives players a true, modern experience with the original FF7 now.Īrguably the most popular game in the entire Final Fantasy franchise, at least in the West, FF7 is beloved by countless fans around the globe. Even with official remasters from Square Enix, problems exist. Although it was a technical marvel at the time, FF7's graphics haven't aged especially well. It's been nearly twenty-five years since the original Final Fantasy 7 released on Sony's PlayStation.
